Like others, I assumed that it was just pronounced like "Mage" with the ending "-gus" added to it.

I'm going to hopefully be doing my regular Mobile Monday again this coming Monday for at least a little bit, and will be mentioning the game a few times, so y'all can hear me pronounce it then on my Twitch.

Is it the same as Magus? (may-gus / mā′gəs) This was my initial assumption, seeing as how it is a form of sorcerer.

But I didn't want to discount other potential pronunciations.... Mag-us? Mage-us?
Of course, I know English isn't the native tongue of most the developers as well, so are their regional dialects in play here?
How do the developers pronounce it?
How do you pronounce it?

I don't want to go around saying it wrong, and not find out till years later.... like how I used to say Neil Gaiman's name or Asus, for example.

I hear you. I read a bunch of Robert Pirsig, and pronounced paradigm (pare-a-dime) as Pare-uh-dig-um for years.
I skewered him where he sat and saw the startled expression on his face as the wound began to flame.

"Oh, basely done!" he cried. "I had hoped for better of thee!"

"This isn't exactly the Olympic Games," I said, brushing some sparks from my cloak.

Mah-goos (with ah as in ahhh) because that's how it would be pronounced in my native language.
