You know, seeing the initial designs for the forest troll i thought: why should every monster looks all alike, like every pokemon (say pikachu) looks like the next one? wouldn't it be better to have a same creature appearing with different forms like it is in real life? honestly i think it would be better! it would prevent to get tired of crossing the pass of the 11th troll of the day!PS: sorry for my english, not my native language ^^

Hey! That is a great idea. We will pass it to our art designer Wink) Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, I really like the idea that monsters have different appearances, but that would have to take a lot of work to make a large amount of different looking giants in this case.

What about every monster has 3 different looks.

1. This one looks normal and is the one you see the most.
2. This one has a different look and is seen most often when battling high-level monsters of the type.
3. The "shiny" of the monster, this one is amazingly rare to meet and is even harder to beat. It looks amazing and is more of a boss monster.

All the bosses at the end of dungeons will be original. Not one of them will look the same. But it is an extremly time-consuming job for our artist so it will take a while to design all the creatures.

You know, it doesn't have to be right away when the game launch ! It could be added from time to time when they can spare time work on this ! Plus coming back in the game and suddenly see a new iteration of a creature we have already meet countless time can rehype what we feel toward this species (like when you meet a shinny Pokemon after meeting thousand of his fellow. You still want to catch it because, you know, this one is different!). I would still prefer that than always seeing clone everywhere ! Boring !

Honestly as an artist (not really good at making computer graphics though lol) one of my favorite things so far has been the graphics. The style is unique and fantasy in a really nice way.

Also I really like that Norse mythology is kind of the main source so far Smile Maybe add some Celtic mythology later since the thread on spellcasting mentioned druidism?

Yes, I think so too. I can only repeat myself that Aleksey is so incredibly talented and the graphics are so beautiful. And since that's a very crucial part of the game I'm so happy about it.

However that hasn't been decided yet. So far we have mostly regular ones and few special kind of custom inspired by Nordic fantasy.

I'd think that you'd start with a broad range of basic creatures, and then add new content in ongoing updates.

In fact, if you wanted, you could make the major updates coincide with themed events.

For example, you could do a global event called Curse of the Pharaohs that would take place during the summer months. In that event, the Mages would be banding together to prevent Set from returning and ruling the world. It would introduce Egyptian themed creatures such as various mummies, serpents, and other monsters from Egyptian mythology, as well as Egyptian themed equipment and dungeons. When the event was finished, Set would presumably have been defeated, but the additional material would have been permanently added to Maguss.

Then in Fall, you might have another event called Vengeance of the Autumn Kingdom, in which the dying elements of the Unseelie Court of the Fae seek to preserve themselves by wiping out humanity (similar to Hellboy II) which would introduce Dark Fae and Celtic Monsters.

Winter could bring Wrath of Ymir, featuring the Frost Giants and other ice-themed and Norse monsters.

They wouldn't all need to coincide with the seasons, that was just me being cheesy. But everY quarter or so could bring a global event introducing new themed material and a new evil organization which threatened Magekind, or possibly the world, lead my a powerful villain.

Just my 2 cents...

Yes, the artwork is absolutely beautiful. It is crisp, but brings a unique style as well. I have nothing but positive feedback for the artwork!
I skewered him where he sat and saw the startled expression on his face as the wound began to flame.

"Oh, basely done!" he cried. "I had hoped for better of thee!"

"This isn't exactly the Olympic Games," I said, brushing some sparks from my cloak.

That picture if the familiar almost make me sad having played whack a mole with it.
We are the defenders that watch the gate in the battle of magic and man, for only our kind walk  both worlds.
