Hehe yeah thats definitely going to be a fun little limitation. Especially since you really need to know how exactly the lines curve to be successful on you first try (more important I bet as you get more slots at higher levels).

Actually going off that will you get slightly more time to cast when you have more slots? Maybe not as much, but a bit more so you arent trying to fit 5 spells into the time of 2? (maybe like base 10 sec + 2/slot or something. Not doubling or anything but adding a bit of buffer)

But what to do when fighting someone with less slots?
May the force be equal to mass times acceleration.

Not totally sure about how slots work yet XD

But it'd just make sense then to just have one person's time run out before the other's. If you have more slots it does make sense you'd get just enought time to use them, and vice versa. They'd be waiting 5 seconds at most. Plus PvP should match people so most of the time they have similar numbers, and PvE opponents are instantaneous.

in PvP you each have 5 slots, in PvE you only have the slots you have opened due to spellcasting.

This.

I guess specialization will come more in the form of the limit of a person memory, to remember the spells we need vs the one we don't use

after that the rate of fire is still the same...

My concern is more about the fact that to what I've seen , spells are found , so it may take a while to get the ones you want...

currently Maguss spells are sorted into 2 types of categories.

First category: Clericalism, Druidism, Magic, Illusions
Second category: Offensive, Defensive, Charm, Curse, Summon and Utility

Both categories allow player to specialize at something but it's not necessary. We haven't implemented any spell trees as we had to allow the player to be independent.

Hope this gave you a little overview, if you want to know more, feel free to ask Smile

That sounds pretty awesome. It will almost certainly be Clericalism and Charm for me. I have people skills!!!

As long as we don't have to accept the duel request with the hardcore players, and can walk away, I don't see the problem. If they invested more time and/or money, they deserve to reap the benefits.

In general, I have very little interest in PVP, but if PVP is your thing, you'll need to find appropriate opponents, or bulk up your character.

In practice, if you compliment a power gamer on their awesome player, they will usually appreciate it and become an ally. Everyone likes recognition for their hard work.
I skewered him where he sat and saw the startled expression on his face as the wound began to flame.

"Oh, basely done!" he cried. "I had hoped for better of thee!"

"This isn't exactly the Olympic Games," I said, brushing some sparks from my cloak.

Alot of this information has changed during the alpha, and the spell system itself is currently undergoing a revamp making it to where there are now going to be 80+ broken up in to different "branch's" then has been listed here.

Looks like it will now be Sorcery, Conjuration, Incantations & Dark Arts, now, which I think looks great.
